Living Room

Our living room has become my most favorite space to be in in our house. With tranquil colors and bold patterns its modern farmhouse chic.

I found this chandelier for the living room on Overstock early on in our home design process. I think it was the starting point and set thLIVING ROOM 3e tone for the whole house. It can be seen from the kitchen, living, and dining room so I wanted it to be a statement piece but  also still flow. It is a very pretty light and is large enough to not look understated in this big room. It glows with such a pretty romantic feel, and the best part is that it didn’t cost a fortune!

We origninally had a giant, brown leather sectional in here and it took up so much space and was so heavy feeling. It essentially made a wall blocking the whole space off.

We moved it into the basement movie theater where it fit perfectly and its dark so it blends. 😉 I hadn’t been shopping for long and really wasn’t sure of the style I wanted when I found these tufted beauties. We got them at Woodstock Furniture Outlet but they can be found online too at Wayfair.

My husband and I own a cabinetry company in Atlanta, we designed and built all of our cabinets. The built-ins are painted in Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze and the walls are Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray.  The built-ins have metal mesh in the doors.

I love white furniture but I just could not sign myself up for stain treating and stress so I opted for a darker material on the sofas. Its almost a linen type material and a dark natural burlap color. So far so good on low stress sofa. Its beautiful and holds its weight against a two year old, 11 month old, rottweiler, and cat.

My girl Nala wouldn’t move so there’s her blogging debut.

I’m into tassels right now and I love these yellow ones on this pillow for some summer bright color.

The rug is from Overstock and is a bargain! This is a 9×12 and have been an excellent quality so far. It’s such a beautiful color.

Having just said the statement above about my logic for not buying a white sofa, I guess I felt adventurous, or maybe it’s because they told me they were the last of their kind of the Magnolia Home collection at American Signature, whatever the motivation I bought two white chairs. I’m glad I did I love them but update to be had later on chair vs. family.

The table with the metal planter bucket and leafy plant beauty is from Target and came unfinished I painted it white with Americana Decor white chalk paint.

I love this coffee table so much. It’s from the Magnolia Home Collection at American Signature Furniture, it’s so beautiful and it’s a little wider than most so it’s exactly what I was looking for. Joanna got it right here for sure. Not surprised though.

We have lots of newly planted hydrangeas plants and they can hardly support the weight of their blooms. They are so beautiful inside and out so I’ve brought quite a few in!

I found the lantern on the table at Big Lots, the tray at Hobby Lobby that I painted with chalk paint, and the coasters at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Both consoles tables are from Home Goods. I made the small candle sticks from table legs from Lowe’s. The tall ones are some kind of bottle I found at Goodwill painted with chalk paint. The farmhouse table lamp is from Target and is the perfect accent to our chandelier.

The corbels are Magnolia Home and the pillows came from Target, At Home, Joann’s Fabric, and Amazon.

Hey Kellye! I was hoping you could answer a quick question about your coffee table. My husband and I actually just bought the same one (Magnolia Homes) and we LOVE it, but are very worried about it getting dirty. So worried, in fact, we’re thinking of returning it. Eek! It’s so beautiful though, I’d love to talk myself back into it. How has yours held up with kids?? Does it show a lot of dirt? Thank you!

      Hey Brooke,
We haven’t had an issue with it. It cleans easily even after dirty little fingers touch it. Hope you’re enjoying it!

Hi Kellye! You have a beautiful home. I have a question about your drapery hardware. My family room layout is similar to yours; the ceiling is 18 ft high, with two sets of windows. I am in the process of selecting drapes for the room, but I am second guessing the hardware/curtain rods. Do you know the diameter of your rods? The designer I’m working with has rods with a diameter of 1.25 inches. But I’m thinking I should go bigger.

Hello! Thank you! Ours are actually 1.25″. The next size up wouldn’t look bad either, but I don’t think it’s necessary.
