This corner is visible as soon as you walk into our house. It was really bothering me just sitting there all naked and stuff.
I started by adding some frames I got at Hobby Lobby, for a completely different project nonetheless, but the sizing felt just perfect for this wall. I was a little hesitant to shiplap our entire house for where we are located and resale reasons; so, I’ve started adding in some more rustic vibes using my decor.
The paint color in this space is Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray.
I found this “wall art” from Kirklands but didn’t like it as was.
I thought it needed a mirror to be complete so I had one cut at my local glass shop. They were nice enough to silicone it in for me so when I picked it up it was ready to be hung.
It turned out so beautiful!
I could have easily bought a bench for this area but I had one floating around our basement and decided to just give it a facelift.
I painted the legs using charcoal Rustoleum chalk paint spray and Americana Blanca Créme Wax.
I used a peice of wood that I drilled holes into to prop the legs up to spray all 360 degrees at one time.
I sprayed two coats onto the legs.
Next, I sealed and distressed them using a white wax. All this step takes, is brushing the wax on and then wiping back off to your taste.
I covered the bench with the white and black Nate Berkus fabric I picked up at Joanns.
I didn’t have a staple gun handy so I used hot glue instead. 
I ended up having to trim the legs I bought to fit the existing setup.
Once the legs were the right size I put it all together and placed in its new corner home.
After I found the fabric I got these two throw pillows to accent and it all came together better than I had imagined.
