Cream puffs are a personal favorite, but this my first time making them myself. I want to experiment at some point with making my own dough. For now, I used a frozen puff pastry sheet from the store. It was really as simple as cutting the shapes, in this case bunnies, but easily could be any other shape.
Save for later.
Puff Pastry
These were super easy; only a few steps to a fancy dessert! I followed the instructions on the puff pastry package, the only difference being, I cut the dough into shapes. I used a bunny face cutter, but any shape would be fine. The large the better. Smaller areas could puff together as it bakes.
No rolling necessary for the dough.
Just lay the thawed dough flat and begin cutting shapes. I did try to roll out the cut offs after in order to maximize the dough. Those didn’t turn out as well, but were still ok. They didn’t turn out at all when I tried the third roll out. Edible, but rather ugly.
While those bunnies are in the oven you can begin the whipped cream. Same concept as the puff pastry dough, store bought is just fine too! I decided these little bunnies would appreciate a little fancy bite so I whipped up a whiskey whipped cream.
I used a manual whipped cream maker which has become my favorite way to make whipped cream. It is so easy to use and the clean up is easy too!
Shop manual whipped cream maker.
